Requests let you collect recordings from colleagues without sending files back and forth. You define what you need, share one link, and the contributions land directly in your project.
Creating requests
In your project, click Request contributions at the top right. The first time, you have two ways in:
With an AI briefing: Describe in the input box which video you want to create with others, or start from a template (for example "Colleague introduction", "Birthday kudos" or "3 questions for..."). The requests are then created for you automatically, just like a video project with Ella. More in the article "Starting a video project with Ella".
Manually: Click Start with an empty document and set up the requests yourself.
You then land on the requests page with its three tabs: Contributions, Recordings and Settings.
Recording a video briefing (recommended)
At the top of the contributions tab you can record a short video briefing via Record video: a personal message contributors see before their recording. It lowers the barrier and can boost the response rate noticeably.
What you define per request
Title and instructions: what should be recorded, where to film, which points must be mentioned.
Media type: for example video.
Time limit: optionally a maximum recording length, otherwise No time limit.
Add script: optionally a script for contributors to read.
Add more scenes via Add request.
Visibility and other settings
The Settings tab controls the behavior for the whole project:
Show all contributions: When on, contributors see each other's takes, which lowers barriers and inspires. When off, everyone sees only their own, better for personal content.
Accept responses: Turn this off to stop collecting once you have enough contributions. The link then no longer accepts new uploads.
Add new contributions to the editing area: When on, every incoming recording automatically appears as a new element in your project in the editor.
Invitation text: You can customize the title and text of the invitation email and the recording start page, including the language and placeholders for the project and company name.
Data and privacy: Decide whether contributors must sign a consent document before recording and whether their name and email address are collected. More in the article "Collecting consent".
Sharing the requests
Click Request contributions at the top right. The dialog offers four ways:
Email invitation: enter addresses and an optional message, then Send request. cofenster sends the invitation with the link.
Copy link: for intranet, chat or your own emails.
QR code: download it, share digitally or print for events.
App code: a code for manual entry at capture.cofenster.com.
Changing a request after sending it
Open the contributions tab and click the request to adjust its title and instructions, for example if contributors should say their name at the start. The shared link and code stay valid; contributors automatically see the updated version.
Where do I find incoming contributions?
All incoming recordings live in the Recordings tab. As long as "Add new contributions to the editing area" is on, every recording also appears as a new element in your project in the editor. There you can move, trim, duplicate or delete it; the original stays in the recordings tab.
A contribution is missing? First check the recordings tab and whether "Accept responses" was on. If the person saw a confirmation and the contribution is still nowhere, message us in the chat with the project name and the upload time.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the code or link?
No, for security reasons that is not possible.
Can I send the same link to several people?
