Transitions between scenes

How to add transitions between scenes in the new editor, change their style or remove them again.

Transitions connect your scenes smoothly instead of a hard cut. In the new editor you edit them in the scene view.

Switching to the scene view

At the top right above the timeline you find two view icons. Click the right one to switch from the timeline view to the scene view. Your scenes appear as cards side by side, and the Transitions and Design tools appear on the left.

Adding or changing a transition

  1. Open the Transitions tool.

  2. Select the scene whose transition you want to edit.

  3. Pick a style, for example BrandDefault (your brand transition) or Colorfade. The choice applies immediately.

Available styles: None, BrandDefault, Colorfade, Crossfade, Iris, Push, Stripes, Wipe and Zoom.

Removing a transition

Select the scene and click None in the transition styles. The cut is then hard again.

Note: Within a scene, for example after splitting a video, you get a direct cut without a transition. Transitions connect whole scenes, not individual elements.
