Sometimes videos are uploaded that have a format other than 16:9 (horizontal video) or 9:16 (vertical video). This happens frequently in video projects with different participants, who may upload videos to a project from different devices or browsers.
With this feature, it is possible to set a background that fills the edges in the video when the uploaded videos do not exactly fit the aspect ratio selected in a project. This update allows one-click selection of a background theme for all videos to ensure brand consistency.
There are three backgrounds you can choose for your video to set the right design for your project with just one click:
Blur effect
Black
Primary Color
Note: Default settings for all projects are set as ‘Black’.
Backgrounds can be customized in two ways:
Option 1: Change the background setting for your project in the Design step
The background options for each individual video can be found in the Design step of each project. This change does not affect saved templates or other projects in the account. This option is recommended if you need to customize the design of individual projects but don't want to change a predefined design template for the entire account.
Option 2: Choose the background of your design templates for the entire account
Create a new theme or customize existing theme templates with preferred background settings that can be applied to multiple projects. Use the navigation bar on the left to open the Design area to create new design templates or to see all the templates in your account. You can now set background within a design template and save it for the entire account.
