Add a text element:

First of all: Open or create your video project. You will automatically be directed to the "Editing" section where you can create new scenes. To be able to add a text element, you need a filled scene (eg. a video scene needs to hold a video, in a color scene a color needs to be selected).

  1. Click the scene for your text element, then press the button "Add elements" at the bottom center of the screen.

  2. A new preview will open, click the button "Add text" on the left.

  3. This opens a menu with all the text elements of your template (enabled for this scene type).

  4. Now choose the text element you want by clicking it. (πŸ’‘Tipp: Hover over the images for a few seconds to see a preview of their animation)

  5. Type your text into the text inputs shown and hit the blue "save" button on the bottom right.

The text of each text element can always be changed or deleted if you open the text element again. In order to save, all text inputs must be filled.

Edit time and duration:

In the time line you can see the text element as a bordered strip with handles at the beginning and end.

  • Shorten and lengthen: Grab the beginning or end of the text element strip with your mouse, hold and drag it to the desired position.

  • Whole scene: If you want your text element to show during the whole duration of the scene, simply drag the start handle to the very start and the end handle to the very end of the time line.

  • Hint: The duration of text elements includes their individual animations (eg. flying in from one side).

What are the benefits of text elements?

  • Highlight relevant information (eg. about the speaker, topic or lessons the video conveys);

  • Clarify your key points and help your viewer to understand complex content more easily;

  • Summerizing your main points is often more easy in text than in speech;

  • Make it easier to find important parts of the video.
