Request video contributions
The "Request" section of your projects enables you to gather personalised videos, at scale, without all the effort and complexity.
How do Requests work?
"Requests" works like an advanced survey form. You can create your requests and then share with contributors just like creating questions in a survey form and sharing it with participants.
You can configure a recording request card with:
title and instructions for contributors to know what to do.
media type to record or upload: Video, Image, or Screen Recording
visibility of recordings for other contributors, which be either:
Visible recordings: enables contributors to see each others’ recordings for the request. This is often helpful inspiration for contributors to feel comfortable adding their own recordings after seeing what others have done.
Hidden recordings: limits a contributor to only see their own recordings for a request. This is more suitable in cases where contributions are more private or not appropriate for others to view.
sharing lists as an advanced way to control visibility of requests for specific individuals or groups. Each “sharing list” has unique links and access codes which can be When you click “Request recordings”, you can select a specific “sharing list” to share.
Add a welcome video: You can add a personal touch to the request by adding a short intro video. This video is shown to contributors before they create videos and images themselves.
Sending the Request
You have a few options for sharing your Recording Requests with contributors.
Once you click the "Request recordings" button, you can:
Send an email invite: by entering email addresses, and custom message before sending. The email includes a web link, QR code, and app access code.
Copy link: allows you to provide this link in other channels or custom emails
QR code: downloads a QR code which can be shared digitally or printed for events and conferences. The QR code can be scanned with a smartphone camera or directly in native app.
App Code: copies a 9-digit access code which can be manually entered in the native app.
If you have additional sharing lists, you will see a dropdown for you to select which list of requests to share or send. The links and access codes are unique to each sharing list, and will update depending on your selection, as you see below.
Managing scenes with recordings
Once a contributor has uploaded their recordings, each asset will be added as a new scenes at the bottom of your scene list in the editing section. You can treat these just like any other scenes. Feel free to hide/unhide, duplicate, or delete these scenes without affecting the original asset which remains in the request section.
