Looking to enhance your videos with voice-overs or seamless transition between main footage and contextual shots? The Media Overlay feature is your solution.

1. Preparing Your Main Footage and Media Overlay

Begin by creating a video scene or screen recording scene; this will serve as your primary footage, which may include audio, e.g. your CEO giving a speech. Collect the contextual shots, which can be images or videos, to be used as Media Overlays. These overlays will be displayed without interfering with the audio from your main footage.

Note: Media Overlays are automatically muted, ensuring that viewers hear only the audio from the main footage.

2. Adding a Media Overlay

Next, click on the Add elements button in your toolbar. In the newly opened page, preview the scene footage and pause at the position where you want to insert the Media Overlay.

Alternatively, you can directly move the timestamp to the desired insertion point.

Once you've found the perfect spot, click on the Add footage button. You'll be prompted to upload your video or image files.

Another great way to fill your video scene card with content is to use footage from the stock library. To learn more about it please read this article. 📖

After uploading an asset, you can add more Overlays per scene. Now, click the play button to preview the effect.

3. Editing the Media Overlay

To fine-tune the timing of your Media Overlay, simply drag and drop it within the first track.

For adjusting the duration of each Media Overlay, trim it as you would with scene footage.

To remove an Overlay, select it and click the Delete button.

After editing, click the Close button in the upper-right corner—your progress is automatically saved.
