Gain visibility into how your video is viewed

You can now get a clear picture of how people are engaging with your videos. You make better data-driven decisions to improve your videos and overall communication strategy.

What metrics are tracked?

Metrics are tracked on videos published to the sharing site (video.cofenster.com.) including any embedded videos.

Here's what you can see:

  • Total Views: The number of times your video link was clicked and the video was started.

  • Unique Views: The number of individual people who've started your video.

  • Average View Duration: The total play time of your video divided by the total number of views.

How are views and totals counted?

We count a view when the play button gets hit for the first time (either in video.cofenster.com, or via an external embed to another website or social media link).

A page visit to the shared url without hitting play will not be count as a view.

A view will only be counted once per browsing session.

“Total views” increase each time play was hit in a new browser session.

“Unique views” increase when new people or browsers play a video the first time

“Total views” and “Unique views” do not change when a video is replayed or the scrubber is dragged to the beginning or end.

If a video is viewed multiple times without reloading the page, the playback time is added up. In rare cases, this can result in the "Avg. Watch Time" being longer than the running time of the actual video.

How do we maintain data privacy?

We don't use cookies, IP addresses, location, fingerprinting, or any unique identifiers to track video engagement.
